Pertisau in the winter

The cold months in Pertisau are a paradise for all winter sports enthusiasts. In the extensive network of cross-country ski trails, skiers can enjoy the glittering winter snow. Whether classic or skating style, numerous trails in the approximately 200-kilometer network around Lake Achensee lead through the romantically snow-covered Pertisau.

A particularly idyllic route is, for example, the moderately difficult trail through the Falzthurn Valley to the Gramaialm. In Pertisau, access to trails of all difficulty levels is possible, and for those who need a bit of practice, training loops are also available.

All skiers and snowboarders have plenty of options in the Achensee leisure region. Right on the hotel doorstep lies the “Zwölferkopf” ski area of the Karwendel cable car in Pertisau. Seven runs plus a snowboard jump ensure skiing fun in a family-friendly atmosphere, along with a stunning view of the wintery Lake Achensee. Sun worshippers can enjoy the terrace at the mountain station. On the outskirts of Pertisau, snow-covered practice lifts are available for beginners of all ages.

From Pertisau, the Rofan cable car and the slopes in Maurach are easily accessible. Away from all the hustle and bustle, 14 kilometers of pistes in all difficulty levels are available here, inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxed day of skiing. Also located in the Rofan is the Christlum ski area in Steinberg. A few kilometers north of Pertisau, the Hochalmlifte lifts can be reached via Achenkirch. Skiing fun and snow reliability are guaranteed here well into spring. Runs of all difficulty levels provide plenty of variety, while numerous gastronomic establishments ensure culinary enjoyment and a lively après-ski atmosphere.

All tobogganing fans will also get their money’s worth at Christlum. In the evening hours, the lighting creates a very special sledding experience. In Pertisau, there is a run starting from the Rodelhütte Pertisau, which of course also invites you to stop for refreshments and offers sled rental. In the evening, the toboggan run is illuminated!

The idyllic, snow-covered winter landscape in Pertisau captivates not only cross-country skiers every year, but also many winter hikers. This winter experience, full of peace and natural enjoyment, leads hikers—on foot or with snowshoes—through quiet forests and sparkling sunlit snow. Beautiful trails lead, for example, into the Tristenautal or to the Gernalm in the Gerntal valley.

This joy of winter hiking is also shared by ski tourers, who find two excellent touring areas in Pertisau: the Karwendel mountains and the Rofan range, both offering deep-snow descents against a breathtaking alpine valley backdrop.

In the village center of Pertisau, there is an ice rink for ice skating and ice stock sport. For those looking for something a bit more unusual, there are opportunities for horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice climbing in nearby Maurach, or snowkiting in Achenkirch. And last but not least, Pertisau offers a packed events calendar—from the Advent season and the traditional New Year’s Eve swim to the carnival period—ensuring plenty of variety throughout the winter.
